In past times years nosotros had constructed these shapes from their nets, thence I decided to add together on to that past times letting the students come upwards up amongst their ain 3D creations from these nets. These free 3D figure nets from Math Geek Mama worked out perfectly for this project! The rules were simple... students could purpose 3-5 of the available nets to do their ain 3D creation! Here are a few that they came upwards with.
Day i was all close creating the figures. Students actually liked the liberty of picking their ain nets together with designing their figures even thence they liked. They could purpose record or gum to shape their nets together with composite figures.
On Day 2, equally students finished creating their figures, they started to abide by the book of their composite figures. Many of my students had already grasped the thought of finding the book of composite figures, but for those who hadn't, this projection gave a dandy hands-on chance for them to practise these problems! Since I was curt on time, I only had students lead maintain a slice of loose leafage newspaper to abide by their book on. They turned inwards their newspaper together with their robot (with names) i time they finished!
This is definitely a projection I volition live doing again!
